Delighted to be standing in the local government elections on May 6th, as the Lib Dem candidate for the Melbourn and Bassingbourn Division on the County Council, which includes Meldreth and Whaddon. It has been an honour to serve in this role over the past four years, and I’ve learned lots from working alongside parish and district colleagues, community groups, and of course first and foremost fellow residents, who bring forward our key questions. Invariably, answers to these benefit the wider community.

This past year has been an affirmation of the power of community in all our lives. So I’m all the more pleased to be standing alongside Sally Ann Hart, who is the Lib Dem candidate in the Melbourn District by-election, which includes Meldreth, Whaddon and Shepreth. This is a two-person ward, the other seat held by Jose Hales.

Sally Ann and Jose both exemplify community focus, as volunteers at the Melbourn Hub and with much experience as parish councillors. Sally Ann’s trademark curiosity, compassion and constructive thinking mean an instinct for seeking solutions rather than perpetuating problems.
