Vaccinations for people who are housebound:

The Cambs and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group write:

“Due to the nature of the vaccine, the first appointments are being offered at one of the hospital hubs or at the GP practice. We do have plans in place to support the vaccination of people who are housebound. If the resident would normally receive your flu vaccination at home then they do not need to contact us, but if they have become housebound and not informed your GP we would recommend contacting them to update your record.”

Vaccinations for unpaid carers:

The Cambs and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group write:

“If a carer is in receipt of carer’s allowance, this would apply:

We are contacting people to come forward for their COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with advice given by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation. You can find the JCVI advice here.

You may find the advice listed under ‘persons with underlying health conditions’ particularly helpful as this includes information for carers of elderly or disabled persons, which states ‘Other groups at higher risk, including those who are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill, should also be offered vaccination alongside these groups.’ “

Vaccinations for people registered at Bassingbourn Surgery:

Bassingbourn Surgery, while physically situated in Cambridgeshire, sits under the NHS East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, due to its affiliation with Ashwell Surgery.  That means that vaccinations for people registered at Bassingbourn GP Surgery will be organised by the NHS East and North Herts CCG.
