Footways in Bassingbourn-cum-Kneesworth have been sided out – meaning encroaching grass pulled back and removed to reveal the actual width of the pavement. In some cases, two-thirds of the pavement had been covered up.
These include: along the A1198 Old North Road, from Tudor Court to Swinnell Court; A1198 from Bassingbourn Barracks to first Kneesworth chicanes; Knutsford Road paths around sheltered housing.
For the most part things look much better. In Knutsford Road, the terrible state of some paths has been revealed – so these will be logged on the Highway fault monitor.
Thanks to the Cambridgeshire Highways team who pulled out the stops to get this work done this past week.
